“You can’t touch this” – MC Hammer

I remember when this song came out, haha i was in front of the TV trying to do the MC Hammer dance. Then my brother came out and showed me how its done haha. “Break it down………Stop Hammer Time.”

Every time you see me that Hammer’s just so hype
I’m dope on the floor and I’m magic on the mic
Now why would I ever stop doing this
With others makin’ records that just don’t hit
I toured around the world from London to the bank
It’s Hammer go Hammer
It’s a Hammer yo Hammer and the rest go and play

Can’t touch this (oh-oh oh oh oh-oh-oh)
Can’t touch this (oh-oh oh oh oh-oh-oh)
Can’t touch this (oh-oh oh-oh-oh)
Yeah u can’t touch this
I told you u can’t touch this (oh-oh oh-oh-oh)
Too hype can’t touch this
Get me outta here u can’t touch this
(Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh)

Mixed Media…Vibes from thesix

girlclub

I have been working on different themes for my artwork and i have also completed a couple of photoshoots with my talented friend, Desire Kaniki. While working and discussing things at a local cafe, he saw my old fashion illustrations and wondered why i haven’t done artwork focused on this theme.

What’s funny is when i became serious about my drawings, years ago, i would go to a local library sign-out a few fashion magazines and create artwork inspired by the fashion campaigns of Chanel, Prada or Gucci. I thought it was funny that i was revisiting were it all began. From that conversation i did a short art series called the six, or vibes from the six aka Toronto, Canada. I was fortunate to use the pictures from Toronto photographer and friend Chris Reign  and put a drahuws spin on it.

Never say, ‘If’…- Alicia Keys

Wow Alicia!

This is true we must watch our words because they are shaping our future. So I’m challenging myself to use ‘when’ and not ‘if’ in my sentences. Subconsciously, I know I use if because I’m not sure ‘it’ will fall into place, if the person I’m contacting for a  collaboration we see and agree with my vision etc.., but I guess believe in the dream and not be concerned about places, people or things. Just know that everything will fall into place.
